We introduce the CAE software "3D TIMON," which uses 3D models to calculate the flow of molten resin inside molds and predict various molding defects.
By using 3D TIMON for resin flow analysis, it is possible to predict molding defects at the design stage, thereby reducing the number of mold modifications and prototypes, which leads to a shortened development period and cost reduction. The analysis procedure is as follows:
【Step 1】
Mesh the target shape for analysis. (By meshing, the target shape can be represented as a "collection of small simple shapes," allowing for computation on a computer.)
【Step 2】
Set the necessary conditions such as "filling time," "injection pressure," "holding pressure," "holding time," "cooling time," "resin temperature," "mold temperature," and "resin data."
【Step 3】
Start automatic calculations by the computer.
